Alien

The film's claustrophobic nature, innovative special effects especially given the time, and suspenseful narrative have made it a timeless classic. Its influence on both genres cannot be overstated, setting the standard for space horror films. Although it just missed the top 10, its lasting impact and masterful execution ensure its place as a near-top-tier film.

Dune 1-2

Denis Villeneuve introduced me to Dune 1-2 and I wrote this blog parlty because of those movies. I didn't think it was fair to bump what was already my top 10 because I hadn't actually seen Dune yet when writing this. But then I did, and in reality, I should probably replace Mad Max with Dune 1-2. But I'll leave it be.
